Anderson Center for Autism is a not-for- profit organization dedicated to providing the highest quality programs possible for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our programs are geared towards challenging individuals on the autism spectrum serving 138 students in our residential school, 74 adults and growing in our community homes and day programs. Through our community service coordination and a growing consulting practice, we are able to help school districts educate many more children, adults and families throughout the full autism spectrum in their home communities. The goal of the BOCES PEACCE program (Providing an Education for Autistic and Communication Impaired Children Effectively) is to prepare people with autism, and other communication impairments, to live and work more effectively at home, at school and in the community. This program seeks to help students understand their environment while help them to acquire communication skills that will enable them to relate to other people. In addition we work with students and their families to improve coping skills and provide the necessary competencies to make decisions which affect their lives. Serving ages 5 -21.
