Anderson Center for Autism is a not-for- profit organization dedicated to providing the highest quality programs possible for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our programs are geared towards challenging individuals on the autism spectrum serving 138 students in our residential school, 74 adults and growing in our community homes and day programs. Through our community service coordination and a growing consulting practice, we are able to help school districts educate many more children, adults and families throughout the full autism spectrum in their home communities. The goal of the BOCES PEACCE program (Providing an Education for Autistic and Communication Impaired Children Effectively) is to prepare people with autism, and other communication impairments, to live and work more effectively at home, at school and in the community. This program seeks to help students understand their environment while help them to acquire communication skills that will enable them to relate to other people. In addition we work with students and their families to improve coping skills and provide the necessary competencies to make decisions which affect their lives. Serving ages 5 -21. Greystone Programs is a not-for-profit agency that provides residential and occupational programs, in-home therapy and day habilitation. NEW HORIZONS RESOURCES; A not-for-profit agency that provides services to children and adults who have developmental disabilities and live in the Hudson Valley region of New York State. ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL; Preschool, evaluations, mental health and outpatient therapies. Early Intervention for eligible infants and toddlers and their families. These services are designed to identify and meet children's needs in five developmental areas. The Autism Resource Center (The Center) is dedicated to providing comprehensive information, evaluation, and advocacy services to individuals with autism, their families, friends, teachers, physicians, health professionals and concerned members of the Hudson Valley (Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, Ulster, Orange, Dutchess) community. This local not-for-profit chapter of the ASA serves the following counties: Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Ulster, Orange, Putnam and Sullivan. A place where families of individuals with special needs and
the professionals who serve them can meet and share information.

NYS REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES OFFICES

The Social Security and Disability Resource Center (SSDRC.com) is an informational website that provides answers to questions about how to apply for disability, how to appeal a claim in the event of a denial, how to navigate the federal system, and how to avoid certain mistakes that are commonly made by applicants. NEW YORK STATE OFFICE FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES – The goal is to facilitate productive and fulfilling lives for people with developmental disabilities by creating opportunities and supporting people in ways that allow for as many as possible to access the supports and services they want and need. A regional office of developmental disabilities which serves Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan counties.

NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

The Autism Research Institute (ARI) is a worldwide network of parents and professionals concerned with autism. ARI conducts and fosters scientific research designed to improve the methods of diagnosing, treating, and preventing autism. The Autism Society supports research that will help families living with autism and its 170 chapters nationwide are incubators for local programs such as Safe and Sound, camps, respite care, and social skills events. The nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
